Nestled on the edge of the Hill Country in the centre of the island is the Horton Plains National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s most important parks, particularly for topographical variations.
The rich biodiversity here and the many endemic species of flora and fauna found within its borders has made it one of the most treasured possessions of the country.
The Plains are a vast expanse of misty grassland with scraggy trees and ice-cold rivulets. Visit World’s End, considered to be the finest view in all of Sri Lanka. This is the only National Park in Sri Lanka where visitors are allowed to trek by themselves on the designated tracks.
