Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s political and religious capital from the 3rd century for nearly 1,300 years, flourished with imposing architecture, rich arts and a deep culture.

Today, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Anuradhapura which was the most ancient kingdom in Sri Lanka, is home to world famous ruins and remnants of a rich collection of architectural wonders built during the kingdom’s heyday.

The Sri Maha Bodhiya, one of the oldest living trees in the world, the Archaeological Museum and Kuttam Pokuna (Twin Ponds) are places to visit in Anuradhapura.
